What is your primary product or service?
Our primary product and service is quality legal, business, news media, and medical transcription produced in the United States. Because we have extensive secretarial experience, we also edit technical documents, provide business support services for executives, lawyers.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
We originally opened Type-thing to provide freedom for our family for the owner to stay at home with the kids.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Our goal is excellent customer service and flexibility with in-office dependability. We are honest and efficient.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We focus on one location with staff located in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico so that we can better ensure quality; however, we provided services across the United States and for some international clients.

We usually perform work over the phone and Internet, so our location is not of significance. We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Michele Duran Skroch started Type-thing Services (under another name) in 1994 as a home-based business while an office manager for a Director of a Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her desire was to stay at home with her children, yet maintain income for their family as well as stay involved with challenging work. She met her goal in early 1998 by resigning her office manager position to devote full time to the home-based business. In 1999, Michele and her family temporarily moved to Northern Virginia, where she recreated her business under the name Type-thing Services. In mid 2001, they moved back to Albuquerque.
What are your hours of operation?
We adjust hours to meet our customers needs; however, generally we operate 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with some hours on the weekend as needed.
